Pakistan Unveils ‘Vanguard Markhor’ Kit for T20 World Cup 2026

Jersey Arrives After Government Okay, WITH SOME CAVEATS

The Pakistan Cricket Board just showed off the national team’s new kit for the T20 World Cup in 2026. It’s called the Vanguard Markhor Edition. They only unveiled it after the government gave the go-ahead for the team to play in the tournament. Since India and Sri Lanka are co-hosting, the government had some things to say before giving their permission.

Cool Design That shows LOVE FOR The Country

The kit’s style is all about showing off what Pakistan is about. It’s mainly light green – you know, the usual color for Pakistani sports stuff – but it has these dark green designs all over it. These show off the Markhor, which is Pakistan’s national animal, to represent how agile and tough the team is. The idea is to show the world how patriotic everyone is. They showed it off during the third T20 game against Australia in Lahore. Captain Salman Ali Agha and the guys wore the new jersey for the first time.

Here’s the Catch: No Match Against India

The kit came out after a political decision. The government said it was okay for the team to play, BUT there was a big catch. They said the team can’t play the game against India on February 15th, 2026. This happened after the International Cricket Council took Bangladesh out of the event because there were worries about security in India. So, Pakistan will only play its games in Sri Lanka.

Team Says: We’ll Do What We’re Told

This changes things for the tournament since it means one of the biggest rivalries in cricket won’t happen. When Captain Salman Ali Agha was asked about all this, he said they’d do whatever the cricket board says. He said the choice to skip the India game wasn’t up to the team; it was a government call.

A World Cup Campaign – But Different

So, the Vanguard Markhor Edition jersey is out, and it’s the look for Pakistan’s World Cup run. But it’s going to be a weird one. They’ll be wearing a kit that reps their country, but they won’t be playing one of their biggest rivals. This will change the whole story of their time in the tournament, on and off the field.
