Pakistan Under-19 Clinches Tri-Series Title with Dominant Win Over Zimbabwe

Pakistan U-19s Crush Zimbabwe to Win Tri-Series

The Pakistan Under-19 team totally crushed Zimbabwe in the final of the Zimbabwe Under-19 One Day International (ODI) Tri-Series 2025/26! The match was at the Old Hararians ground in Harare on January 6, 2026. Pakistan made it look easy, chasing down 159 runs super quickly in just 16.2 overs with only one wicket lost. They totally deserved to lift that trophy! Zimbabwe tried their best, but Pakistan was just too good.

Toss and the Field

Pakistan U-19s got lucky and won the toss, deciding to bowl first – smart move! The field in Harare was pretty fair, a little something for both the batters and bowlers. It was a sunny day, perfect for the cricket fans who came to watch. The grass was quick, so runs were easy to grab if you hit it right. Pakistan’s bowling didn’t let Zimbabwe get comfy at the start.

Zimbabwe’s Turn at Bat

Zimbabwe Under-19s had trouble scoring against Pakistan’s bowlers, it was tough. They lost wickets right away to Umar Zaib and Mohammad Sayyam, oh no! Samuel Muyambo got out for just one run, and Kian Blignaut didn’t last long either. 2/2 is never a good start… Zimbabwe needed someone to step up and rebuild.

Their captain, Kupakwashe Muradzi, didn’t last long, out for six runs. Takudzwa Makoni and Brandon Ndiweni scored a few, but then they, were sent back to the dugout by Umar Zaib. It was 15/4 after only five overs. Michael Blignaut played great, though, scoring 60 runs off 102 balls. He hit eight boundaries, which helped keep Zimbabwe in the game.

Leeroy Chiwaula and Benny Zuze pitched in with 15 and 16 runs, and Chiwaula even hit a six! Tatenda Chimugoro made a quick 28 not out off 39 balls, hitting a boundary and two sixes. So, Zimbabwe was all out for 158 runs in 44.4 overs. Pakistan’s bowling put them under pressure.

Pakistan’s Bowling

Pakistan Under-19s bowled really well! Umar Zaib was awesome, grabbing four wickets and only letting up 20 runs in seven overs. Mohammad Sayyam got one wicket for 29 runs, keeping the pressure on.

Abdul Subhan took two important wickets, and Daniyal Ali Khan got one too. Ahmed Hussain and Huzaifa Ahsan didn’t give up easy runs. Pakistan’s bowling was just too good, stopping Zimbabwe from really getting going.

Pakistan Goes for the Win

Pakistan Under-19s needed 159 and they chased it down without any problem! Sameer Minhas went crazy, scoring 114 runs off only 51 balls. He smashed 17 boundaries and five sixes! He really took it to the Zimbabwe bowlers.

Mohammad Shayan helped out, scoring 38 not out from 42 balls, including four boundaries and a six. Usman Khan got two runs. Pakistan won, 160/1 in just 16.2 overs, showing how strong their batting is. They knew how to hit the ball well and run quick!

Key Moments

Sameer Minhas’ awesome batting was the biggest story. He can score runs super quick even when the pressure is on. The other team was probably scared! He helped win the game fast, a really great moment.

Minhas and Shayan worked well together. They made sure the runs kept coming so Pakistan could win. The guys that opened for Pakistan showed confidence and could handle the big game.

Zimbabwe’s Struggle

Zimbabwe Under-19s didn’t give up, especially Michael Blignaut and Tatenda Chimugoro. Blignaut’s 60 runs were important, and Chimugoro scored some runs late when the team needed them. Benny Zuze and Leeroy Chiwaula also added some runs, but it was hard because of how the innings began.

Leeroy Chiwaula even got a wicket, Mohammad Shayan, giving Zimbabwe a little hope, but Pakistan’s batting didn’t let them get too excited.

Details of the Day

The umpires were David Shawane and Tafadzwa Musakwa. Stanley Gadzikwa was the reserve umpire. Julia Chibhabha was in charge to make sure everything went smoothly! The game kicked off at 9:30 in the morning, and Pakistan finished it before the day ended in the late afternoon.

The field was helpful to both the batters and bowlers at times. When the ball got softer, it was easier to hit and Pakistan took advantage! The weather was great, so nothing stopped the game, and the field let the batters get easy runs.

What This Means

Pakistan Under-19s won the 2025/26 Zimbabwe Under-19 ODI Tri-Series! They have strong bowling, hitting, and fielding. The young players are ready for bigger challenges, and Sameer Minhas and Umar Zaib were especially good.

Zimbabwe Under-19s tried hard, and their middle and lower-order batters showed some talent. Michael Blignaut and Tatenda Chimugoro proved they can handle tough situations. This tournament gives them valuable practice for future games.
