Pakistan Women Call Up Saira Jabeen, Humna Bilal for South Africa Tour

Pakistan Women’s cricket is getting a makeover with some new faces and a renewed sense of drive! The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) just dropped the team lineups for the T20I and ODI series against South Africa. This comes as the team is trying to get back on its feet after a rough 2025 ODI World Cup, where they ended up at the bottom without winning a single game.

New Blood in T20s: Meet Saira Jabeen and Humna Bilal

The big news from the PCB is that they’re bringing in two fresh players: batter Saira Jabeen and fast bowler Humna Bilal for the T20I squad. Both have been doing well in local games, and this is their chance to shine on the international stage. Adding these young talents shows Pakistan wants to pump some energy into the team with players who can bring some heat to the middle order and the bowling attack.

Fatima Sana Stays Captain for Everything

The PCB is sticking with Fatima Sana as captain for both the T20I and ODI teams. Fatima’s been doing her thing with both the bat and the ball. She’ll be leading a team that mixes experience with youth. Her leadership is expected to keep things steady and guide the team during this important tour, which is all about getting their groove back.

What’s New with the ODI Squad? Welcome Back Some Familiar Faces

The ODI squad will see Ayesha Zafar and Najiha Alvi back in action, which will add some depth to the middle order. Diana Baig, the fast bowler who used to be a key part of Pakistan’s bowling attack, is back just for the ODIs. With a blend of older and newer players, Pakistan wants to step up their game and give South Africa a run for their money, no matter the playing conditions.

Extra Help from Mentors and Coaches

To give the team an extra boost, former fast bowler Wahab Riaz will be traveling with them as a mentor, sharing his knowledge with the players. The coaching staff includes batting coach Imran Farhat, fast-bowling coach Umaid Asif, spin-bowling coach Abdur Rehman, and fielding coach Abdul Majeed, which means they will be ready for anything.

Tour Schedule: T20s and ODIs

The Pakistan Women’s team will kick off their South Africa tour with a training camp in Karachi starting February 1. Then, they’re off to South Africa for three weeks. The T20I series is from February 10-16 in Potchefstroom, Benoni, and Kimberley. After that, they’ve got a practice match against South Africa Emerging in Kimberley on February 19.

The ODI series starts on February 22 in Bloemfontein, with the next games on February 25 in Centurion and March 1 in Durban. The first and third ODIs are day games, while the second will be a day-night match.

They’ll also be counting on experienced players like Fatima Sana, Ayesha Zafar, and Diana Baig to guide the team when things get tough.
