Pakistan Women’s Squad Announced for South Africa Tour 2026

The Pakistan Cricket Board just announced the women’s squads for the ODI and T20I series against South Africa! They’re heading there for a tour starting February 10, 2026, with the first T20 match in Potchefstroom. This is a big deal for the team as they prep for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in June 2026. It’s their chance to get better, try out different combos, and get used to playing internationally.

Fatima Sana is Sticking Around as Captain

Yep, Fatima Sana is still going to be captain for both the ODI and T20I teams. She’s got the experience. With her leading, the team’s been trying to mix experienced players with some new, young talent. The goal is to play really well in South Africa and keep it going after that. The PCB selectors picked a 15-player squad for each format. It’s a mix of players we know and some newer faces. You’ll see names like Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Zafar, Gull Feroza, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Rameen Shamim, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, and Tasmia Rubab in both squads – so there’s some consistency in the batting and bowling.

Fresh Talent Getting a Shot

We’re also seeing some new players get their first international call-ups. Batter Saira Jabeen and fast bowler Humna Bilal are getting their first chance with the T20I squad. It shows Pakistan wants to bring up young players. They’re hoping these players can bring some energy to the team, especially when things get tight during the T20I games. For the ODI squad, Ayesha Zafar and Gull Feroza are back, along with Tasmia Rubab (left-arm pacer) and Najiha Alvi (wicketkeeper). They missed out on the previous ODI World Cup picks, so it’s cool to see them back! Diana Baig, Najiha, Sadaf Shamas, and Syeda Aroob Shah are in the ODI squad only, while Humna, Saira, Tuba Hassan, and Eyman Fatima are just in the T20I lineup. This mix should give the team a better balance and more depth before the T20 World Cup, so it’s great to see the effort.

Coaching Crew

Wahab Riaz is the team’s mentor, and there will be other coaches. Imran Farhat will coach batting, Umaid Asif is the fast-bowling coach, Abdur Rehman will help with spin bowling, and Abdul Majeed is the fielding coach. They should get advice on everything from skills to strategy. The team is starting a training camp on February 1, 2026, in Karachi. This will help the players get ready for South African game conditions.

T20I Schedule

The T20I matches will be the 10th to 16th of February in Potchefstroom, Benoni, and Kimberley. They’re all day-night games. This practice will be important for the Pakistan Women to see what works and build up some speed going into the World Cup.

ODI Schedule

After the T20Is, Pakistan will play a practice match against South Africa Emerging in Kimberley. Then there will be three ODI games. These will be at Bloemfontein, Centurion, and Durban from February 22nd to March 1st , 2026. The second ODI is a day-night game, but the other games will be during the day. This mix of conditions is good for getting ready for international games.

Back in South Africa

The Pakistan Women are back in South Africa for a series for the first time since January 2021. They played three ODI games back then in Durban. Also, Pakistan played in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa, so some of the current players know what the pitches are like over there. This series should be interesting. Both teams will be trying to play their best, test the players, and experiment with different lineups that could be super important for the T20 World Cup.
